Fryeburg Fair 2024: Thursday, October 3 Highlights

Join  for an exciting day at the Fryeburg Fair! Here’s what’s happening on Thursday, October 3:

Morning Events:

  • 8:30 AM: Kick off the day with the Show of Working Oxen and Oxen & Steers at the SGG. Don’t miss the Draft Horses and Ponies showcasing their skills at the RG.
  • 9:00 AM: Head to the MVP for the Sheep Show, or catch the Beef Show featuring Shorthorns, Angus, and Aberdeens at the LSA. The WSA will also host the Dairy Show focusing on Holsteins and Ayrshires.
  • 9:30 AM: Check out the Ox Pulling Competition (3300 lbs, 6’ Elimination) at PR, followed by the Flower Show at Expo 1.

Midday Activities:

  • 11:00 AM: Join the Wreathmaking Demo at the Christmas Tree Exhibit.
  • 12:00 PM: The Flower Show continues at Expo 1, along with a Sheep Shearing Demo at MVP and the Horse Pulling Competition (3300 lbs, Distance) at PR.
  • 1:00 PM: Get creative with Maine Potato Creations at AEC, and enjoy another round of the Sheep Show at MVP.

Afternoon Highlights:

  • 1:30 PM: Witness the thrill of Harness Racing at RG.
  • 2:00 PM: More fun at the Flower Show (Expo 1) and another Wreathmaking Demo at the Christmas Tree Exhibit. Don’t miss the Ox Pulling (3700-4100 lbs, Percentage Class) at PR.
  • 2:30 PM: Watch the Horse Pulling Sweepstakes (20’ Elimination) at PR.

Evening Spectacles

       4:00 PM: The excitement continues with the Horse & Ox Pulling Sweepstakes, where the top teams will compete for distance. Also, enjoy the Flower Show at Expo 1.

  • 4:30 PM: Celebrate the champions in various livestock categories at LSA.
  • 6:00 PM: Don’t miss the Horse Pulling Competition (3300 lbs, 12’ Elimination) at PR.
  • 8:00 PM: Wrap up the day with an unforgettable performance by The Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute!
